Open Source Video Sharing Scripts & Video CMS

Want to create your own free video sharing social networking website? Here are 5 best free & paid video sharing content management systems.

Two years ago, I published an article about open source social networking scripts, which, I admit, does seem stale now and I believe needs updating. In the same course of thought, I have decided to publish this series of articles about open source scripts for various applications in different languages, mainly PHP and Ruby on Rails. Indeed node.js is increasing its presence and influence on the web due to its advantages over PHP, however no strong framework is yet developed in it.

So, chit-chat aside, here I start.

CumulusClip is a free video CMS. This video sharing script produces HTML5 videos which work with iOS, Android mobile devices and all the major browsers supporting HTML5 markup for embedded media. It has a small online documentation and a couple of plugins and themes, none of which, unfortunately is available for recent version. Script is out with version 2.0 and does have an active support forum.
